Welcome to the Chess-Stack discussion forum!

We expect that this will be a friendly, informal forum where the chess community will
discuss chess, chess psychology, personal development and perhaps just our love of
the game. This is also a grand place for the community to interact and have open
discussion about all matters chess - and in particular matters involving improvement of
the chess
mind - by whatever means can be imagined.  Let this be a place where we
escape the bonds of conventional thinking and work outside the box.  Specifically with
which ideas we can lend to the notion of advancing chess
training - as well as the
conventional methods for the study of chess.

I am excited about the prospect of launching this site, because I don't think it's ever
been done in quite this way before.  That's the kick; in doing something
new!

Mind your manners, though.  If you've nothing nice to day - PLEASE do
not say it al all.
Don't rag other sites in which you are displeased - or badmouth their products on this
site.  If you wish to critique
this site - or it's products - you have the contact and
feedback pages.  Use them!

Intentional rudeness, personal attacks, flame wars, or overtly offensive messages are
unacceptable. Language promoting violence, or promoting illegal activity of any kind is
expressly forbidden.  The rules can be summarized in two words: BE NICE.

Disagreement with each other is
certainly anticipated - but please do so politely, and
refrain from calling the other guy and idiot - even if it
is apparent (to you) that he is
one. Offensive messages will be immediately deleted and the person posting them will
risk having his or her right to participate in the forum suspended.

A
whole section of this website is dedicated to beginners (Beginner's Corner).  The
message is clear.  We want to WELCOME our beginners, to nurture them - and to
share with them the joys of chess.  So be patient and helpful and make it YOUR mission
to help our beginning brethren to improve.

Of course, we have a NO-SPAM policy.  We want to know about links to chess related
sites that really will edify the chess community, but
DO NOT join this forum just to
blatantly advertise your site. Regular members who've taken the time to become part of
the community are more than welcome to tell us about great sites they've found or even
those they've created themselves, but using this forum to bombard its members with
disruptive messages or SPAM is not acceptable.

If this sounds reasonable to you, then jump in! You'll need to
register before joining
the forum.  That will be your first task upon entering the site.  You'll find an entry in the
forum menu bar.  Just click it and follow directions.

Get involved in the discussions, share your experiences and your love of the game, ask
questions, give your opinions, get to know fellow chess enthusiasts, make friends, and
become a part of our community, committed to improving our game through improving
ourselves.
